Towpath Trail

The coolest hiking trail in Cleveland must be the Towpath Trail. The Towpath Trail is a dirt path that borders the Erie Canal stretching from Akron to Cleveland. It was built 175 years ago so animals could pull boats up and down stream. The canal is set up with a lock system so boats can travel from Lake Erie to the Gulf of Mexico (via Ohio and Mississippi Rivers). This trail is a part of Ohio's only national park too. We did not take very many pictures due to a thunderstorm that rolled in, so we will return for more soon!
